Drastic fuel price increases in EU countries

Drastic fuel price increases in EU countries have a very significant impact on the entire transport and logistics industry. Fuel is a fundamental element, without which road transport would not be possible. Therefore, we look with concern at what is happening on the fuel market - every day prices at filling stations increase by several eurocents. Continuous increases in fuel prices disrupt logistical processes. Fuel price fluctuations are caused by, among other things:

  • World price per barrel of oil
  • Natural disasters, wars, conflicts or pandemics
  • International currency exchange rates
  • Supply and demand

In a few simple words - when fuel prices rise, transport companies incur more costs, which clearly means that they have to raise their freight prices to compensate for the fuel increases in order to stay in business and continue to provide road transport services.
At this point, transport companies are faced with the challenge of maintaining their operations in order to be able to maintain continuity in the supply chain.
