Strike in Spain

Renewed protest by Spanish transport companies from 13 November

Late on Sunday evening, 13 November, a protest will be started by Spanish transport companies. As announced, it will be a continuation of the strike that took place in March this year, which led to the paralysis of goods deliveries throughout the country. We received the information about the planned action first-hand - from our client operating in Spain.

We are warning of the consequences of the upcoming action. Once again, there will be disruptions to supply chains. Therefore, Dear Customer, be aware of possible:

  • infrastructure blockages, which will affect, among other things, delays in deliveries to Portugal,
  • possibility fuel shortages,
  • delays in deliveries to shops of necessities.
  • the cost of deliveries will not be unaffected - the price of deliveries may increase due to higher demand for the organisation of transports by foreign companies.

Significantly, the duration of the strike is not yet known.

The information provided by Manuel Hernandez, spokesman for NPOST (National Platform for the Defence of the Transport Sector), follows the Pedro Sanchez government's failure to honour its pledge to have the state control the amount of costs of doing business in the transport segment.

At the same time, we point out that, as your loyal partner, we consistently provide transport services, both 'to' and 'from' Spain. We hope that together we will get through this difficult time. As always, we are at your disposal.
If the situation changes, we will keep you informed.
